Counseling: Meet Your Therapist
Hi Everyone! My name is Stephanie Freitas and I will be your therapist. I wanted to take this post to talk about myself and my role as a clinician in your life.
I have 10 years of experience in working in mental health in various settings with a diverse client base. I am not married to any approach because I am a firm believer that the way we approach therapy, and your concerns must work for you.
As a client at Simple Therapy you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where you will feel safe to explore and process your emotions. While we primarily focus on adolescents, young adults, adults and families we work with people of all ages. We are an inclusive practice and welcome everyone with open arms.
My professional and personal experience has shown me that building a trusting and supportive relationship with the client is key. Often therapy can be misperceived as “just talking about negative feelings” but we also celebrate life’s wins when they come along! When you have a therapist you are never alone, and at Simple Therapy we will support you through it all. This blog shares my thoughts and experiences as a counselor. These are not theories that are formally founded in scientific evidence but more thoughts about what it is like to live with mental illness based on my years of experience working as a clinician. These stories or tips may or may not apply, take what works and leave what doesn’t. Remember this isn’t formal therapy, just a blog.
